Cemetery Pathway Replacement
This took quite some time to do as we had to look at the different options of materials available and which would provide the most longevity, but at the same time providing a cost effective solution. As you can see from the photo’s below the old footpath had come to the end of it’s life and was in need of replacing. In addition the old footpath did not provide easy access to wheelchair users. Access to the allotments at the bottom of the cemetery involved walking over grass and did not provide a safe access for wheelchair users as well as for wheelbarrows.
The replacement of the paths caused some issues as all materials removed or taken in had to be done by hand or with small machinery due to access once you get past the main footpath. We realise this caused disruption, however the Council are pleased with the results.
Issues that emerged were addressed and dealt with and we’re all in agreement that the pathways are vastly improved and will see us well into the future.
